'Wayss Handbook.'The German firm Wayss & Freytag published what was effectively a text-book promoting the Monier system, for which it had licences throughout the German-speaking world and in many other countries. The German title was Das System Monier in seiner Anwendung auf das gesamte Bauwesen. It was written by the theoretician Mathias Koenen, who did not put his name to it because he was a public servant. The first edition was published in 1886 (some researchers have 1887).
